At Horizon® we provide pediatric and adolescent speech-language services to the community, addressing a wide array of speech and language disorders.  This private practice, based in Teaneck, New Jersey, provides a flexible one-on one approach to children through young adults in their most comfortable setting whether at home, the child's daycare or school.

We employ a practical and warm approach to therapy.  Parental involvement is key for success.  Parents, caregivers and teachers are encouraged to attend sessions and ask questions.  You are involved every step of the way, and are given activities to practice with your child to help review the new skills your child has learned. Furthermore, it helps your child learn how to generalize the new skills into everyday situations.  After all, encouragement and reinforcement is the key to success.

What can you expect from us:

Comprehensive Evaluations- We use a wide array of evaluation types covering all aspects of speech and language development.  They type chosen, is based on the areas of concern.  Most evaluations involve the use of standardized testing, which provide information about how your child is performing compared to same-age peers.  In addition to standardized testing, informal testing is also performed.  This usually includes information provided by the parents, as well as interactions with the child in conversation and/or play activities. If a more involved / in-depth evaluation is required, the evaluation may be split over several sessions. A written report is always provided at no additional cost.

In addition to speech and language evaluations, we also provide comprehensive evaluations for Apraxia, Oral Motor (Oral Placement) Disorders, Sensory-Motor Disorders, and Feeding / Swallowing Disorders.  These evaluations usually include an in-depth examination of the facial and oral structures, and their functioning.  Also examined is the sensory system within the mouth, as well as the motor planning necessary for speech and feeding.

Individual Therapy Sessions - Therapy sessions are geared specifically to your child's needs, and strive to guide your child to achieve success.  There are 45 minute sessions, and 60 minute sessions.

  • Multi-Lingual Services: English, Hebrew, Sign-Language

  • Individual Therapy sessions designed specifically for each client
